Sometimes we wonder, when caught up in the "hardness" of family life, if there is real truth in this statement. Or at least I do. When the choices of those we love most seem to conflict with every idea of happiness, we can also wonder if we even want them to be forever...
...but as I take the time to just sit back and really see the people I call family, the people to whom I give every piece of my heart, as I observe the true greatness of the people that I am lucky enough to call "mine," as I hear (or feel) their testimonies, as I am brought to tears by their talents and passions and ambitions, as I am touched by their random acts of kindness... I feel my understanding expand and my spiritual eyes see family as it really is.
Several talks today from LDS General Conference (semiannual conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) have mentioned that challenges bring us closer to where we really want to be. Perhaps that is why being a part of and raising a family is the most difficult thing I have ever done.
Heavenly Father and Mother know ultimate happiness. They experience joy in such measures that we don't yet comprehend. They want to share it with us, so they give us families...
