God works in Mysterious Ways

So I haven't posted for a long time but today I have felt the Hand of God in my life and I wanted to share. They are small and simple ways, but they touched me.

The first way started on Sunday, actually, when Mekenze asked me what she could do that was "worthwhile" during her 2 hours between school and dance. She must be feeling the reality of going away to college--far, far away, I might add--Pointe Park in Pennsylvania. She wanted suggestions like going grocery shopping for me, or making cookies for our neighbor, or making a quilt, or baptisms for the dead...

I was impressed on Sunday, but this morning when she asked for a grocery list and my debit card because she was going to the grocery store before she came home from school, I was impressed in a stronger version of the word. All of the time I have spent wondering and worrying if I have raised her right and taught her all that she should know as a woman...knowing that life is way too busy sometimes and that I have missed these types of moments...but I must have taught her something. God let me know today that she is a good girl and is ready to move on in her life.

The other thing happened when I emptied the lint screen on the dryer and something fell down into the vent. I turned the dryer on and it made terrible sounds! You have to know that the dryer tube comes off the back of the dryer sometimes (because it was badly attached) and there has been way too much lint behind the dryer and pretty much all over the laundry room. Every time I take the time to realize the fire hazaard, Dave is gone. I try to move the washer and dryer out and end up frustrated so I clean the best I can and call it good. Well, today Dave was home and he noticed the ugly noise the dryer made and came to my rescue. He pulled it out far enough to get behind it and after he had fixed the problem, he let me get behind it and clean it! (That doesn't always happen. He is often in too big of a hurry to allow me to clean the way I want/need to) You would not believe the fire hazaard! I'm not kidding! I honestly believe that if I hadn't accidentally let something drop into the vent on a day that Dave was home, we would have had ourselves a lovely fire befor too long. I kind of don't think it was really an accident...I think God had His hand in it. He knows and is there in even the silliest ways!

So there you go, simple but I needed to share...
