Curtis Loves to Skateboard!

Curtis has been spending hours learning tricks on his skateboard. I'm glad he has such determination. I hope he puts some of it toward school this year! ha ha

My Baby is All Grown Up!

Karter started Kindergarten yesterday. Most moms cry, but I think it is so exciting! Maybe I'm mean, but I just don't get sad when my kids go to school. I wondered if MAYBE I would this time, where he is my BABY, but nope! Happiness and a little bit of awe...and can I say secretly wishing it lasted all day? No, THAT would be mean! 3hours is perfect for both of us right now.

KINDERGARTEN is SOOOO CUTE!!!! When you have millions (well, 4) kids going to Kindergarten every other year, it is just routine, so you don't realize how dang cute it is! But wait 6 years and send your baby...it's just cute!

Last week he got to go in and meet his teacher, Mrs. Pickering, and get a taste of "Centers." I got to go with him and help. He was so stressed about doing everything perfect! For example, he was supposed to "estimate" how many cotton balls were in a jar. He couldn't stand it because he thought he might be wrong. He guessed 15 and there were 13. It killed him! (Is he his Mom's kid?) But he had a great time.

Here is a picture of the math center, matching colored shapes to a design on the paper. He made a kite!

Karter was most excited to ride the bus. It was scheduled to arrive at 12:12. Dave and I walked him to the bus stop and waited with him (103 degrees outside)...and we waited...and we waited...the bus didn't come! So we hurried home and drove him to school instead. He was so bummed until we explained that he could still ride it home. We took him to his classroom to find NO TEACHER or kids in the classroom! I guess a lot of kids didn't get to ride the bus--minor chaos--but finally all was well and we left Karter there to enjoy his first day of school.

Today the bus DID come! So we had two cute first days with cute pictures to go with them!
